The Indian Social Institute, New Delhi was established in 1951 in response to the challenges of nation- building and a new emerging social order of independent India. It has evolved its vision, mission, goals and objectives in responding to the changing situation in the country in the spirit of a learning organisation over the last fifty years.
OUR VISION is to be engaged in strengthening the people's movements particularly from among the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, the minorities, the unorganized and landless laborers and women, so as to build an India where the marginalized and the excluded along with the people of diverse identities will be enabled to live with dignity, justice and freedom.
Our Mission
OUR MISSION is to advocate the cause of the poor, the marginalized the exploited and the excluded at all levels through research training and action for their socio-economic development and for the exercise of their human rights.
